Lovely House in Rodì with Garden, Barbecue and Terrace and Distant View

The house is in a large bay (Golfo di Tindari) between Capo di Tindari and Capo di Milazzo, at the foot of a beautiful mountain landscape, in the historical centre of the little village Rodi Milici. A fantastic view of the sea and the Aeolian Islands awaits you (Vulcano-Lipari-Filicudi-Panarea-Salina-Alicudi-Stromboli).Comfortable holiday house with a beautiful roof terrace and a wonderful distant view as far as the sea, for immersing yourself in vibrant Sicilian life, discovering traditional cuisine or relaxing in the olive grove belonging to the house

The living space of around 110m² comprises a generous living room, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a rustic kitchen. The ca. 45m² living room provides ample space and comfortable seating for six people. Enjoy a stylish interior for cosy evenings. A radio-CD and a wide selection of German books round off this room. The first bedroom is furnished with a comfortable double bed (200 x 200cm), while the other two smaller bedrooms each have a cosy single bed from grandma’s day. A supplementary bed and a cot can be provided on request. The rustic kitchen is the favourite gathering place for most guests, along with the directly adjoining terrace. The panoramic large sliding windows and doors afford a beautiful view of the sea and the Aeolian Islands. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a four-flame gas stove, a fridge-freezer, a German coffee machine and Italian espresso machine. Air conditioning and heating are available. Six people can enjoy the rustic ambience at the dining table for six people. The bathroom with a shower, WC and washbasin is right next to the three bedrooms on the lower, pleasantly cool floor of the house. This is an advantage especially during the hot summer months, as air conditioning is then not required. There is also a guest WC with a washbasin and washing machine. Enjoy your stay relaxing, reading, grilling, sunbathing or partying.

The site is fully fenced in with a garden, so your children can play safely and dogs can run around freely. A highlight of the holiday house is the charmingly designed roof terrace. There are parking spaces on site. It is an ideal place to enjoy the sunshine, to read or simply to chill out with a glass of delicious Sicilian red wine. There is an outdoor shower on the roof terrace for cooling off after sunbathing. For many guests, this is the best spot of all. The living room and one of the bedrooms open onto a balcony. The house also has a ca. 13,000m² olive grove about two minutes away by car. It is wonderfully situated on a hill, with a breathtaking view of the sea. You can see all the Aeolian Islands. The owners have called the hill “Tindari Hill”, owing to the grandiose view also towards Tindari (ancient Greek theatre and pilgrimage church).

Please note that the air conditioning unit is only in the kitchen area.

The centre of the typical Sicilian village Rodi Milici with a restaurant, bars and supermarkets is only about 200 metres away. No imposing cathedral or ancient temple awaits visitors at the Roi Milici piazza, but there are three different churches in Rodi, not mentioned in any travel guide, that are charming and worth seeing with their typical rural style. The village is not dependent on tourism and you will not find a souvenir shop on every corner, or any luxury boutiques with prices to match. Rodi offers you a lot more. It is a mature and traditionally vibrant Sicilian village. During the winter months you will not be standing in front of closed shops and restaurants and the walking paths are not closed off. You will experience pure Sicilian everyday life, 365 days a year. The local gastronomy benefits from tourism and is known for its authentic Sicilian cuisine. Even the locals from further afield come to Rodi at the weekends to dine out. All four restaurants are well attended. At the weekend you should therefore book a table. Many guests emphasise the natural and genuine hospitality of the village locals, whether it is the village hairdresser or the baker, at the supermarket or the butcher – you will always feel pleasant and unobtrusive friendliness and helpfulness. You will get by in Rodi even without Italian language skills. People know each other and help each other.

    “Rust en schoonheid in overvloed. Het appartement is ruim, schoon en heeft alle zaken die je nodig hebt voor een zorgeloze vakantie. Ook heeft het een prachtig dakterras met een fantastisch uitzicht. Mocht je iets te kort komen is de contactpersoon er altijd om je te helpen, ze biedt zelfs aan om boodschappen voor je mee te nemen.
