Fancy some relaxation and variety in a beautiful village in the south of France? Then this lovely vacation home with private pool in Barjac is just right for you! In a pretty hamlet in the Gard, between the gorges of Cèze and Ardèche and at the gates of the Cevennes, it offers everything you need for a successful vacation. The location 1 km from the center of Barjac is very quiet. Wooden floors, wooden beams and lots of stone underline the character of this comfortable accommodation. From the terrace you have a great view of the village and meadows, and the pool is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. Here on the edge of the Ardèche department, you can reach many great sights within a short time, such as Vallon-Pont d'Arc (13 km), which around its 60 m high natural stone arch or the Pont d'Arc is the central village for canoeing and outdoor tourism in the region. Here is also the Chauvet Cave, not open to the public, where the oldest cave paintings and cave drawings known in the world were found. However, the reconstruction of the cave, or Caverne du Pont d'Arc, has been recreated for tourist purposes and is visitable. Take a look around the delightful village of Ruoms (22 km), and the two villages of La Roque-sur-Cèze and Goudargues are also worth a visit and, like the unique cascades of Sautadet, can be reached in less than half an hour by car. Barjac with its alleys, old facades and pleasantly shaded squares is a nice village to get to know. At Easter there is a celebration in the village. At the end of July, the festival Chansons et Paroles (Songs and Words) is also held here, and due to the proximity to the Camargue, festivals around the bull are held at the beginning of August. There are a number of great hiking trails in this area, including the Ronze Forest with its many dolmens and other Neolithic remains. This region will delight bathers, river fishermen, hikers, bikers, cave enthusiasts, and in general, recreationists and those in need of recreation alike. Guided tours of the old town of Barjac are offered in July and August. Visits to the town archives are possible every Wednesday from 6 pm. A few minutes from the village runs a trim trail. Bedroom 2, equipped with two single beds, is accessible via an open sleeping gallery with a single bed.
