Agriturismo in Tuscany, with a pool, all necessary amenities for your comfort and a wonderful view


The agriturismo has received the "5 Girasoli award" (sunflowers award), the highest distinction that can be achieved by an agriturismo.

The agriturismo is located in Saturnia, at the heart of the Maremma in Tuscany, in a magnificent and unique location with panoramic views. It is surrounded by an incomparably beautiful, natural hilly landscape, in which individual trees, especially centuries-old oak trees, are intermingled with corn fields, vineyards, olive groves and forests.

Guests are accommodated in a completely refurbished country house made of stone called “Il Casale”, as well as in the houses of the “Borghetto”: Il Villino, Il Casaletto and La Casetta. Il Casale and the Borghetto lie about 200m apart, but are not within sight of each other.

The holiday houses are nestled into a 30-hectare organic farm, crossed by the Albenga River and the ancient Roman road “Via Clodia”. While Il Casale has its own exclusive outdoor area with its own pool and barbecue, the Borghetto houses share a communal pool in a discreet spot under an old oak tree, as well as a barbecue area. In the Borghetto, each holiday house has its own furnished outdoor area. Those who enjoy fishing can do so at the Albenga River. A table tennis table is also available for guests.

The agriturismo, framed by the Maremma landscape, provides holidays for people of all ages and in all seasons, bringing together interests in nature, culture and health. Guests can purchase poultry and small free-range farm animals from surrounding farms, as well as wine, oil and vegetables from the agriturismo’s own cultivation.

The agriturismo is located in particularly quiet, rural surroundings, even though it is in the vicinity of the ancient town walls of Saturnia. Therefore the most important services are nearby. The town is also within walking distance, by going along the road or crossing the hamlet and continuing for 600 metres along a gravel track. Guests can hike on the estate, along forest paths and through the Mediterranean macchia, or along the green banks and rocky gorges of the Albenga River, discovering an unspoilt, natural landscape. Here, guided only by a love of nature, one can come across pheasants, porcupines and wild boar and spot common buzzards and grey herons. The agriturismo is very close to the thermal baths and various golf courses.

Il Casale , country villa, sleeps up to 14, with Lush Garden and Panoramic View

IL CASALE : Nestled in the hills of Maremma and not far from Tyrrhenian sea, lies the charming villa Il Casale. Completely immersed in nature with a unique panoramic views. This traditional old stone villa has been beautifully renovated; giving guests the
chance to experience Tuscany in all its rustic beauty, in the height of comfort. The ground floor is open plan with two living rooms, dining room, breakfast area and well equipped kitchen. There are stone walls, oak beams and antique tiles.
In the garden there is a private pool, barbecue area and pergola.
The Villa is located within the organic farm Fontenuova, a short distance from the hill top town of Saturnia and its famous thermal springs.

The ground floor has an equipped kitchen, a dining room with a fireplace, a living area with a fireplace, a living room with a table and sofa bed, a bathroom and a bedroom (only accessible from the garden) with a double bed and its own shower room. The first floor comprises a bedroom with its own bathroom and terrace and a suite with a double bed, its own bathroom with a bath, a storage room and stairs to the gallery, where there are two single beds (privacy is ensured). In the basement there are two further bedrooms each with a double and single bed, their own bathroom, access to the outdoor area and a view of the pool and the valley. The rooms provide plenty of space and feature exposed wooden ceiling beams. They exude a refined rustic atmosphere, with space for sociable get-togethers, fireplaces and dining tables. The country house can accommodate a total of 14 people, but two further people can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room on request.

From the parking area, which is a little higher than the house, there are stone stairs to the front door. On the rear side of the country house there is a large, furnished veranda with large glass sliding doors, becoming a conservatory during the colder months with a sitting and dining space and a view of the forested valley. In the area of greenery in front of the house you can find a grill area with worktops and a sink, as well as a rustic table with benches and a laundry area with space for drying. The pool, which has an unusual shape, is on an area with lawn in the terraced garden and affords a fabulous view of the landscape. Pool is open from June to September (depending on the climate conditions).

The house provides ideal holiday accommodation all year round with plenty of space for living outdoors. The country house on the slope of a hill is well thought out and is surrounded by a terraced, lush garden with a panoramic view.

During your stay you will be able to explore the woods and gorge of the river Albegna. Local wildlife includes porcupine, wild boar, spotted buzzard, heron and more. You will discover on the Albegna riverbanks, a Thermal Pool with water at 30° where take very pleasant baths from March to October.
Fontenuova’s peaceful location lies only a stone’s throw from the village. The far-reaching views from the farm leave you in awe of the beautiful surrounding landscape. This tranquil haven will appeal to all ages throughout the year.

    “Wir waren 14 Personen und haben noch das Dependance dazu gemietet. Das Haus und vor allem der Garten waren fantastisch. Jedoch kann das Zimmer/die Kammer unter dem Dach im Sommer nicht wirklich genutzt werden, da es viel zu heiss wird. Auch das Bettsofa im Wohnzimmer ist im Sommer etwas zu heiss. Optimal ist das Haus also eher für 10 Personen.
    Wir hatten aber allgemein einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in Saturnia!”

    Familientauglich - sehr - Pool mit verschiedenen Ebenen, verschiedene Spielmöglichkeiten im Außenbereich, Absperrungen zum Pool

    Es war rundum ein sehr erholsamer, ruhiger und entspannter Urlaub.”

    “Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war nicht gut. Die 2 Betten unter dem Dach sind im Sommer nicht verwendbar, viel zu heiß, die Kinder mussten die Matratzen nach unten bringen. Das Haus sollte höchstens mit 12 Personen belegt werden. Ein 3-Bett-Zimmer im Untergeschoss war leider auch nicht ganz sauber (Teppiche) und muffig. Der Pool war 7 Tage grün aufgrund von Algen. Da man für Häuser mit Pool in der Hochsaison ca. 30% mehr bezahlt als für Häuser ohne Pool, stimmte hier aufgrund der Wasserqualität nicht der Preis. Angabe zur Zufahrt wäre auch empfehlenswert gewesen. Wir wussten nicht, dass es so eine lange steile Schotterstraße ist - Rennrad! Die Lage war jedoch sehr schön und auch die Einrichtung, ebenso die 2 Zimmer im 1. Stock.”

The pool has a new pump this year so its should be working perfectly. Summer is usually very hot and when its hot its hot, the attic now has a fan but its the only room without an AC unit even though its open plan with the Suite bedroom. We have many shaded areas to lounge, we don't have umbrellas due to strong winds which we are prone to, next to the pool. We are sorry that you weren't satisfied! Sarah and Matt”

    “Sehr schönes, großes Haus mit viel Platz. Küchenausstattung ist gut, alles da, was man so braucht. Besonders schön ist der Wintergarten mit Essplatz, der auch an Regentagen das Gefühl vermittelt, draußen zu sitzen. Großer Garten, traumhafter Blick, schöner Pool. Nach max. 10 Minuten zu Fuß kommt man zum Fluss an dem oder tw. sogar in dem man sehr schön entlang laufen kann. An manchen Stellen ist Baden möglich, fast wie in den Gumpen auf Korsika, wunderbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.”

    “Lage und Größe des Hauses sind wunderbar. Auch die Rundum-Aussicht ist unvergleichlich. Die Ausstattung beinhaltet alles Notwendige. Wir fanden das Haus sehr sauber vor. Selten haben wir so eine gute Küchenausstattung (viel Geschirr) und Freizeitgeräte (Darts, Tischtennisschläger...) vorgefunden. Sehr schön war, dass man im Wintergarten auch bei nicht so schönem Wetter essen konnte und man hatte so das Gefühl im Freien zu sitzen.”
