forest was used for recreation of the Austro-Hungarian army and for the relaxation of gentlemen. It was planted 200 years ago by the Croatian sailors. Intersected by narrow winding trails, the forest is ideal for hiking, Nordic walking and bicycling. That is the place in Croatia where cork oak grows.
Various supermarkets, shops, banks , restaurants and a bus station are available only a few minutes away. The city center is situated at a distance of 4.5 km. The nearest and most famous beach Punta Verudela is 7 km far or 10 -minute drive by car. The first bus station is 3 kilometers and the airport Pula 5 kilometers far.
Pula is the largest city in the region of Istria. One of the main attractions and also the symbol of the city is the amphitheater.
While walking down Pula you will notice many monuments from the Roman architecture: the Triumphal Arch of the 1st century BC, the Hercules and Twin Gates, the Temple of Augustus and the Small Roman Theatre in the city center. A special experience will be taking a break on the main town square, the Forum. Pula has 190 kilometers of coastline, crystal clear waters and beaches "decorated" by choice: stone surfaces or pebbles for all ages, especially families with children, or "wild" beaches hidden by the untouched greenery for those who wants privacy.

particularly in form of picturesque wine hills, lush green forests and olive groves which stretch out along the turquoise coloured Mediterranean Sea. Vacationers appreciate Istria not only for its delightful landscape but also for its many great beaches which can be found here along Croatian Adriatic Coast. Particularly nice conditions for a beach vacation and at the same time a big choice of holiday apartments and houses are offered for example in Medulin which is a former fishing town on the southern tip of Istria. The blue sea and the marvellous beaches don’t only lure sun lovers and occasional swimmers: Whether windsurfing or diving – Medulin is also an ideal water sport area. Not far away from Medulin is the town of Pula. In Istria’s biggest town – and at the same time the cultural and economic centre – you can visit the gigantic amphitheatre and the well preserved Augustus Temple both dating back to the Roman era. The popular resort Poreč situated in the western part of Istria has a number of nice beaches and is also an ideal starting point of many day trips – for example to the islands of Brijuni or into the idyllic hinterland. Those who are on the search for a tan might want to pop to one of the many offshore islands that are serviced by boat shuttles where you can alternatively seek a shady place. If you are looking to cool off a visit to a nearby limestone cave Baredine could be a good option. Another great place to recharge your batteries is the charming spa resort Opatija which lies on the other side Istria on the border to Kvarner Gulf.
